My solution to the crisis

As much to warn you immediately, I deliberately chose to be as radical as possible.
I have definitely finished with half-measures, common sense and politically correct.

Why this sudden agitation ?

The Russian-Ukrainian crisis that will end sooner or later in World War III, the election campaign that makes me laugh and vomit at the same time (which is far from practical...), the so-called way out of crisis (lol and lmfao), the repetition of mistakes and the impunity of our beloved banks, The Voice, the demagogy of our political losers, the PS (and soon the Communists who do not dare call themselves Communists), the ex-fat Bart, the progressive and obscure erasureof our identity, the waste disposal tax, the down leveling organized by our (non) thinking heads and many other delicate subjects lead me to offer you one and one only solution.
And I'm not going to please everyone, far from it. Time is the choice and I made mine.
The time of the fun is over...

Difficult choice, well thought out and that caused me some insomnia, I must admit.
But it is now far too late to moralizing, to try to make you believe in better days. Illusions have definitely vanished. And if this little glimmer of hope faded, it's not my fault.
I see you coming, it's always the fault of others. No, no and no !
Look around you! What can really make you believe in a smiling future ? Nothing...

Starting from this observation more than am, I give you my solution.
Normally, I should apologize in advance for the pain, hatred or disgust that this solution might cause you. But I will not do it. It's now everyone for himself.

The totjespap

Even if it is not really seasonal, here is a little recipe from my place of Belgium.
Ideal to satiate quickly during the long winter evenings, this dish is far from being fine and delicate, but it is devilishly effective. It will take little to stall your stomach and warm you up. His little name is the totjespap (or tatjespap or papin with milk beaten).
To prepare a good plate of totjespap, plan the following ingredients (for 4 people) :

  • 1 kg (2.20 lb) of Bintjes potatoes (it is important that these potatoes are a little floury),
  • ½ liter (0.13 gal) of fresh beaten milk,
  • salt,
  • pepper,
  • nutmeg,
  • 50 grams (1.76 oz) of farm butter.

For the preparation :

  • Peel the potatoes (it may sound obvious but we never know...) and cook for 30 minutes,
  • once cooked, drain and mash them,
  • make the beaten milk simmer (and not boil !) and add it to the mashed potatoes. You will choose between a thick texture or more liquid (personally, I prefer it a little thick),
  • it's ready !

The advantage of this recipe is that it is all-road. Indeed, you can simply enjoy the totjespap alone or accompanied, as desired, shrimp, bacon, black pudding, apples (preferably Boskop), pork sausage or veal or even a scrambled eggs. As I said before, it's not really dietary but we don't care.
Other assets are the simplicity and speed of the recipe and the very affordable price of its ingredients.
For the presentation of the dish, there too, let your imagination run !
