There was a long time since I had not had time to visit a former power station. Three long years of dearth...
It took us to emigrate to Germany to find the rare pearl : Kraftwerk Cyclonkessel (Papierfabrik).
Already a fan of brownfields, I must admit that the old power plants are my favorite sites in this well apart branch of urban exploration.
The power plant was installed to meet the huge energy needs of a paper mill built in the late 19th century. As usual, after the
apogee of the factory is closed. Logically, the central follows the same path and since then she sleeps beside the river since quite
a long time.
Place very little degraded, one can easily pass on the few graffiti. Yet fully equipped, visiting the central nevertheless
requires some flexibility and discretion required. The old factory has been partly redeveloped and the place is not lifeless.
The control room.
The newest machines room.
Reflection I.
A fly-head motor !
The desk of foreman.
A large unexplored hall owing to its exposure to the outside world.
Reflection II.
The old machines room.
Out of use for eternity.
The same equipment than in the new hall, but from another era.
An office in derelict.
Power off switching !
