When Belgium occupied militarily Germany between 1946 and 2002, it was inevitably barracks to house soldiers. So for more than 50 years, a number of military bases and barracks were implanted on area 250 km long and 60 wide.
At the beginning of the occupation they counted 40,000 Belgian soldiers in Germany. Over time, the families of these soldiers joined them and again swelled the number of "expatriates". In the early 90's, there still remained 25,000. This territory had its own ZIP code (4090) attached to the Province of Liège.

The visited barracks dates mainly from the 70's, and 20 years later, it will be deserted. Since then, nothing.
Playing an important role during the Cold War, it will obviously be completely emptied of its military equipment. Will left behind a large set of empty buildings, a cinema, an imposing tower of communication and a large wooded area. The all abandoned, of course.
