When the SNCB/NMBS declass equipment, whether it sells to foreign companies, they let rotting in warehouses themselves abandoned.
Thus, there are delisted locomotives awaiting destruction for decades.
Some machines have a more than respectable age : for example, the locomotive 8443 is 57 years old.
This "management" of railway heritage is obviously a boon for us. So we visited a yard left to its fate since 2000.
